The Best Song Ever: Tibet

As it gets warmer out, the time comes for warmer jams. Queue the oft-loved The Bear Quartet, with "Tibet" from the 1995 EP of the same name. Silkier and smoother, this classic always gets the crowds into a sweaty dance. Perfect for those humid nights when a slight breeze wipes the brow for you, and then gives you two high fives for listening to the best band around. Enjoy.

PUNKS GROW UP

MP3: Mattias Alkberg - Jag bara tänkte, liksom, att

I'm a bit late in getting the new Mattias Alkberg record, but that could well be a result of his other band's stellar record that was really nary a month or so prior to this effort. Anyway, here is a great track from it, as well as link to him performing it on PSL.

The Best Albums Of The Decade: #1 - Saturday Night

MP3: The Bear Quartet - Birds Are Singing Deep Within the Greenery

#1 - The Bear Quartet - Saturday Night
A West Side Fabrication 2005

Matt On Saturday Night:

The middle of the decade, saw, unbeknownst to itself, it's musically defining moment. Largely neglected by most of the world, The Bear Quartet had constantly been getting better in their previous 15 years as a band, and when Saturday Night appeared, it signaled a change. Elements that would not work on their own do as a whole. Where music dared to tread in the early part of the decade it went, and whereas music in the latter half attempted to poorly imitate this masterpiece.

IT'S THE MATT GIORDANO (ALMOST) WEEK HERE AT FUCK YEAH! GO TEAM!

Hello, from another installment of the Matt Giordano (almost) week here at the blog. Monday being labor day is what makes it an almost week of course... but it's a week of guest posts from our favourite contributor!! Enjoy the good, the bad and the Swedish. Yum!

So the most important band of the decade has a new album out today (09/09/09), and it's grand. Basically, if you don't listen to The Bear Quartet then you're a fool. Get on the fucking boat.

NOTE: Today's contribution comes from lil' Matt Giordano. Shockingly, this is his first post on the Bear Quartet in the entire history of this blog. Seriously, you'd get how crazy that is if you knew him. Never too late? Fuck no!

Listen up music world. The new album by the greatest band on the planet is coming out on 9 September, and what better way to get your ears ready than by offering up a couple of classic tracks. One could state that every song by The Bear Quartet is a classic, and that wouldn't be to far off—especially of late, as three of their recent albums are amongst the definitive of the decade (2001's Ny Våg, 2004's Saturday Night and 2006's Eternity Now). Here is a song from each.

89, the new album by The Bear Quartet is, again, out 9 September. A song will be available on the blog around then.
