Great song from Veronica Falls' sophomore album Waiting for Something to Happen. I think this band is fanfuckingtastic; I dug the hell out of their last one and I am really into this new effort. No pressure to you, dear reader. Just sayin'.
Mick Fleetwood's solo album The Visitor is a weird one - he doesn't sing on it, he just drums while other dudes belt it out. There are plenty of cool moments on it though, and "You Weren't In Love" is chock full of them. Enjoy.
Unknown Mortal Orchestra once again delivers on incredible production, musicianship and lyricism on "So Good at Being in Trouble", from February 5th's excellent II.
I'm pleased as punch to tell you that my pals Widower have a new record out today at long last! Stream Fool Moon now and buy it for 8 bux on their Bandcamp page, you won't regret it.
(NOTE: I don't know why the player is forcing the album to start at track 2, but please skip back one song to get the "full experience")
Always glad to hear new pop music from Sweden's Sally Shapiro, and their newest single "Starman" comes packaged with bonus all-stars: Electric Youth (whom we all fondly remember from the genius Drive soundtrack) co-wrote and appear on the track, giving it a little extra shine... and boy does it.
Keep an eye open February 26th for Somewhere Else, coming out on Paper Bag Records.
My friend Derek B. posted this Bromar song on Twitter last week and I've been obsessed with it since: "Call Me Up" comes from a 12 inch single, released back in 1985. and that's pretty much all that's known, but these dudes are too cool.
One of the many things 2012 lacked was any new Colleen Green material, but do not fear: this glorious new year has redeemed the past with March 19's Sock it to Me, and it is quite anticipated by me and probably the whole world too.
It's a new year, which means we can count on The Men releasing another killer album - New Moon comes out March 5th, while the first single "Electric" will be released as a 7 inch later this month, with non-album cut "Water Babies" on side B. Oh yes, I like 2013 very much.
Hell yes! Bleached are finally releasing their debut album, titled Ride Your Heart, on April 2nd via Dead Oceans. Stream "Next Stop" below, it fucking rocks!
Even more output from Ty Segall - this time on drums with frequent collaborator Charlie Moothart. They go by Fuzz, and they quietly released a 2 song 7 inch on Trouble in Mind. A second pressing is on the way, but for now enjoy the ripper from side a.
Hallelujah! The Go are back with Fiesta, coming in piping hot on 2 LPs from Burger Records. Stream "Dirty Room" above and check out the trailer below. You just know this one is going to be all hits!
