Here's the crazy infectious "Weight", another track from Mikal Cronin's upcoming album MCII. This song is seriously the best thing I've ever heard from him.
A rainy day like today can make me think about the stuff I've loved in the past - like the band Harlem. They fucking ruled, and their 2 full lengths (Free Drugs ;-) and Hippies) are still in extra heavy rotation.
So where next? How do we look forward to the future when it showers us with liquid despair? Enter Lace Curtains: it's music from one of the Harlem dudes, and it's a fine continuation of that band's genius songwriting abilities.
"Toe Cutter - Thumb Buster" takes the award for riff of the month; it also sounds like a nice day out in the fucking sunshine. Floating Coffin by Thee Oh Sees is released by Castle Face on April the 16th. #cantwait
Some bands have it down to science; Shannon and the Clams are a shinning example. Dreams in the Rat House, their first for Hardly Art, is out May 25th.
The day was kind enough to bring us all another glimpse into Colleen Green's forthcoming LP, Sock it to Me (out on the 19th). You heard "Time in the World", now here's "Heavy Shit". Enjoy.
Here's a new Parquet Courts b-side for you to feast on, from their single for Borrowed Time. Enjoy "Smart Aleck Kid", one of 2 unreleased gems on the upcoming 7 inch (get a copy).
Audacity continue to age like a goddamn fine wine, or a delicious cheese. "Finders Keepers" appears on the 7 inch of the same name, out April 2nd on the Suicide Squeeze Singles Club.
