FUCK YEAH: More?

MP3: Boris with Merzbow - Akuma No Uta

Four years later, the Boris/Merzbow collaboration originally known as "Mellow Peak" has been released. Two new songs, a Jane cover and two versions of tracks from Akuma No Uta, the track here is the title from that. Heavy.

MP3: Boris - Hope

Boris has two albums coming out on April 26th, and today we get a peek from the one we were less excited about: "Attention Please" is the record that isn't heavy and also is an entire album with Wata on vocals. Thankfully, "Hope" isn't terrible (it's actually pretty fucking good!), and I now find myself just as excited for this LP's release. In the end, we all trust Boris to slay and they found a way on "Hope".

So yeah, I'm jamming it, but mostly I can't wait for "Heavy Rocks"!

Fuck. Yes. Boris.

The Best Albums Of The Decade: #20 - Pink

MP3: Boris - Farewell

#2o - Boris - Pink
Southern Lord (US) 2005

Matt On Pink:

This is Boris's album. Largely unknown to a majority of the world, Pink is what finally got everyone into the sludgy metal that the Japanese had long since known. Brutal and loud, tidal wave of noise.

FUCK YEAH: Boris

MP3: Boris - Statement

It's a wonder that we haven't posted about Boris on the blog before: both myself and frequent contributor Matt Giordano are big fans of the gash slayers, but I suppose we just assumed everyone was hip to them and didn't need to be told what to listen to.

But that is the beauty of the FUCK YEAH posts... oh and they put out a new record. "Smile" is out today, and worth getting online from Southern Lord so you can get the limited dvd (only in 3000 copies of the disc, numbered and all) with videos for Statement (today's mp3), My Neighbor Satan and the rarely seen video for Pink. Word.

If you've never heard Boris or "Smile", I posted "Statement" as a first listen. If you have heard Boris AND "Smile", this is here because you know it's a fucking killer track.

Good night.

"Smile" is out today on Southern Lord.
